My talks are illustrated with slides --many of which I have made specifically for my subject and also with original pieces of costume form my collection .I like to make my talks and lectures very interactive and have developed some individual ways of getting my audience involved and communicating key issues. I frequently speak to WI groups and similar gathering and am available daytime or evenings..

After training as a design historian and adult education teacher I had a career that included lecturing for museums, in colleges and adult education centres, both in Lincolnshire and Oxford.
My specialism is the hisory, sociology, and psychology of fashion, but I have also spoken on and taught the history of architecture, furniture, and product design.
I am currently researching 2 talks specific to Cornwall ---Cornish Textiles and Fulling Mills, and The History of Truro. Other current research is concerned with female equality and changing female image.
