How I Permacultured my Garden, My House and Myself!
-a talk with video presentation-
 |
After the success of my first talk From Brambles to Blackcurrants I was asked to create another talk moving on from the early days of our potager venture. Although it touches on potager, it is the story of my home life, starting with being made redundant from Trebah Garden in Feb 2009, to studying Permaculture Design which is a set of design principles based on nature, of which some say there are over 300. I talk through some of the basic principles and key elements using my own photographs of the design taking shape. I touch also, on the history of Permaculture, Peak Oil and the Transition movement and forest gardening. I engage with my audience throughout the talk, encouraging them to start thinking in a Permaculture way. The talk embraces how we added an extension to our barn in Port Navas, upwards and outwards and re designed the garden to grow more food.
I end the talk with how I Permacultured Zone '00' ..... myself! All in all, this is a very personal look at a very special journey - the journey of how I put into practice what I, along with a group of 20 others, studied over 6 week-ends in West Penwith during 2009.
