West Bromwich Public Library

a video presentation talk by  Anne Wilkins

Much of the rich cultural history of West Bromwich town remains hidden within the walls of some of its most treasured landmarks. Having lived in West Bromwich all my life, regularly passing these buildings without a second glance I decided to take the opportunity to research their history.  I now enjoy sharing the results of two years in-depth research by giving illustrated talks which I hope will help to get these buildings the recognition they deserve.  West Bromwich town's Public library celebrated its centenary in the year 2007.  The library is very much advancing with the times but still places great importance in its history and service to the community.  My virtual tour of the library will reveal its magnificent tiled interior, its beautifully literary murals created by local artist Pat Arnett and highlight the changes that have taken place in the library lending service.
