About the Speaker...
At the age of 58, ex-headteacher and school inspector, Claire Baldry, left the world of education and reinvented herself as a writer and performance poet. She now has a strong following as a writer, blogger and a poet. She has read her poems on Radio Sussex and on the Guardian Witness Website, and has a very regular schedule of bookings as a public speaker. Her appearances are always very popular, and she is frequently asked back by groups to give a second or third talk. Claire has now published four booklets of amusing poetry, and one of her poems was included in the top 100 Poetry Rivals publication for 2015. Since then Claire has also written an autobiographical novella entitled ‘South Something’. Her debut novel ‘Different Genes’ is due for publication in Autumn 2017.
