About the Speaker...

Enthusiastic, passionate and knowledgeable, David is an RNLI Silver Badge award winner and brings over 40 years of RNLI fundraising experience.
David is the Hon. Secretary of the Durham Branch of the RNLI, a small but highly effective, award-winning, inland fundraising Branch, based in the City of Durham, which organises fundraising events in the Durham, Washington and Newcastle areas.
David has organised over 325 fundraising events in the last 16 years, which have contributed to the Branch raising over £239,000 for the RNLI in that time.
In the 2017 National Fundraising Awards (which cover the whole of the charity and voluntary sectors across the country) David was shortlisted by the Institute of Fundraising for the “Best Volunteer Fundraiser” award.

Presentations are with Powerpoint, videos and a professional sound system. I provide all my own equipment including screen.

The length of the presentations can be tailored to Speaker Secretary’s requirements.

I m happy to travel within a 30 mile radius of Chester le Street, County Durham (this includes south Northumberland, Tyne and Wear and north County Durham).

This talk is an inspirational history of lifesaving at sea and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution from 1790 to the present day and how volunteers have braved all weathers and shown immense courage to save over 141,000 lives.
