This is not a book about crafting
embroideries, it is a book about the history of Staffordshire driven by Sylvia
Everitt's incredible embroideries. You can read more about the
embroideries by clicking on the link lower down this page. Sylvia created
the Embroideries because she felt that the people of Staffordshire knew little
about the way they had helped shape their country over the last 1000 years.
Each embroidered panel represents one hundred years of Staffordshire's history
and every panel is beautifully illustrated in the book which has colour
photographs on every page. I loved writing this book, its not a heavy
history, its gossipy and anecdotal and has proved to be a very popular
present to give to people who have perhaps moved away from the area.
