The Not So Glamorous Side of Being A Writer

This talk follows the ups and downs of a writing career and its very light hearted and everybody seems to enjoy my approach to looking at the things that didn't happen to me in quite the way a writers career is portrayed in fiction and on TV - for instance, the celebratory night out with Champaign when you sign your first book deal - don't believe a word of it....... what actually happened was that my publisher took me to his local pub, he had a beer and he bought me a glass of wine!  The talk lasts about 45 to 50 minutes though I've expanded it to 90 minutes with a pause for refreshments when asked to do so. I tailor this talk to the requirements of my audience, so if I'm speaking to a Writers Circle I give lots more information about how to approach a publisher with a manuscript and how much money you might be likely to earn.  I'm quite happy to answer questions at the end of my presentation.

Speaker's Fee £60.00 plus petrol if more than 15 miles from Lichfield

Negotiable for small local groups
