Good Wine, Bad Wine, Taste the Difference

Gerald Gregory conducts Blind Tutored Wine Tastings for groups eg Womens Institute, Probus, Rotary Club, & others.

I conduct Blind Tutored Wine Tastings for groups and my talk revolves around Telling the difference between a Good Wine and a Bad Wine.
I reveal Journalists Wine Speak ie understanding wine Terminology. Also, understanding common faults in wines and learning how to recognise them when tasting or smelling. How to use the senses: Viewing, Smelling, Mouth Feel, Mouth Aroma, Bitterness, Finish.
Booking groups need to supply their own wines, wrapped in paper so that no one in the room knows the names of the wine or colour.  A 75cl bottle will give approx 20 samples so the number of bottles of each wine is determined by the numbers attending. Attendees need to bring their own wine glass & spitoons. It helps if groups sit in a semi circle rather than rows for pouring purposes.
Hand-outs can be given out containing notes on the tasting techniques these cost £1 per person.

The length of the talk is determined by the number of wines to be shown. A maximum of 10 mins per wine.
