TEMPTING TITLES

Public Speaker in Surrey Marion Field presents her talk Tempting Titles

Titles are so important as they are the first thing a prospective reader notices. I have found some interesting and unusual sources for the titles of my books. I will share these with my audience.

WRITING LOCAL HISTORY

Public Speaker in Surrey Marion Field presents her talk Writing Local History.

As I have written several local history books, I am well qualified to talk about my interesting experiences when researching the subject.

SUSANNA WESLEY – A RADICAL IN THE RECTORY

Public Speaker in Surrey presents her talk about the life of Susanna Wesley, mother of John Wesley.

Susanna Wesley was the mother of John, the eighteenth century preacher. She gave birth to sixteen children but only ten survived. Life was not easy for her; money was scarce and the family moved several times. Their last home was in Epworth. In spite of difficulties, Susanna managed the house, her family and her husband, Samuel. After he died, she lived in London with her son, John, and looked after his home while he was travelling around the country.

Susanna was not afraid to speak her mind. She had definite ideas and would have fitted well into the twenty-first century. She was a fascinating lady and I think you will enjoy hearing about her.
