I trained as a teacher and have taught in England, Canada and Uganda. Returning to England, I took a post as Head of English in a comprehensive school. Later, I took early retirement to concentrate on writing, travelling and acting. I have a professional Acting Diploma from LAMDA and act with a local group.
I have written articles and a number of books on Biography, Local History and the English Language.
In my spare time, I read, play tennis, act and enjoy visits to the theatre with friends. I am an active member of my local Anglican Church.
About my Talks...
My talks last for about 45 minutes. As a trained actress, I speak clearly and my audience usually has no difficulty in hearing me. I am very happy to adapt my talk for particular groups and although I am usually a stand-alone speaker, I can do a Powerpoint presentation if a projector and laptop is available at the venue.
As well as giving talks, I also run Creative Writing Workshops – for more information about these continue to scroll down below my talks.
I am available during mornings and afternoons and also, I can offer evening talks from May to September.
I may be available at short notice.
I have an answer phone and will always phone back if a message is left.
My fee is £75 and 35p per mile travel expenses. I am happy to travel within a fifty-mile radius of my home in Woking, Surrey including areas within that limit in the surrounding counties of Hampshire, Kent, Sussex, Essex Berkshire and Greater London.
