Penny Wheat

Location: Stafford, Staffordshire
About me...

I taught silversmithing/jewellery at Stafford College in Staffordshire for 36 years and have recently retired. I have given talks to WI; TWG; Rotary, Probus and other such groups.

About my talks...

I’m a stand alone speaker – so you don’t have to worry about a screen and power points when I’m speaking! I bring LOTS of actual items, be it jewellery and silver items, or drawings and craft items made by prisoners, or a huge treasure chest containing lots of comic visual aids to illustrate my talk ‘The Perils of a Public Speaker’. I can promise you thay all three of my talks are lavishly illustrated, very lively and (so I’m told) amusing.

Fee:

£40 plus a small travel donation.

I am happy to travel within a 50 mile radius of my home in Stafford, Staffordshire – this roughly covers West Midlands, Shropshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Derbyshire, Cheshire and of course all areas of Staffordshire.

What People Say About My Talks

Thank you very much for your extremely entertaining talk following our lunch today.  Once again we all had a very enjoyable time listening to you.  The humorous sayings, epitaphs, poems etc. were very interesting but the piece de resistance was the quiz – in particular your superb whistling –  which was great fun and kept everyone on their toes.

It was lovely to have a speaker presenting something a little bit different and I wish you every success with your new talk at your forthcoming engagements.
Thank you for your company at lunch and I hope you enjoyed your meal and your visit as much as we did.
