About me...

I am a guitarist/singer/composer and Bird Song recordist. I have had a long and exciting music career which has taken me around the world. I have recorded nine albums, recorded at Abbey Road studios, performed live on BBC R1 – John Peels show – and R4 – Start the Week, written music for Channel 4 films. Performed my own show for Edinburgh Fringe and performed in venues as diverse as Wormwood Scrubs  and Coventry Cathedral.

About my Talks...

For my musical talk all I need is a three pin socket to plug my PAT tested guitar amp into.  My Bird Song Talk is audio-visual digital and I can supply all the equipment but happy to use in-house equipment.
Talks last between 50 and 60 minutes and I am happy to answer questions at the end.

Fee:

£100 inclusive within forty miles radius of Bedford. Travel at 20 pence a mile for over forty miles.

A lively  entertaining and engaging Talk featuring brief history of guitar, in which I play Classical, Spanish and Mississippi Blues music along with my own songs and tunes on 2 Guitars and Cuatro . Anecdotes and stories from a career in music which started in a North Bucks village to performing live on John Peel’s BBC Radio shows, recording nine albums, a single at Abbey Road Studios, writing songs for BBC R4’s Start the Week, 2  Chanel 4 films, touring in Europe,Asia,USA and New Zealand and playing blues with guitarists in a Mississippi cotton field.

Illustrations showing how a bird sings, with latest scientific research on the state of our British songbirds:  ie, can feeding birds in our gardens make a difference to how they sing?
